At the end of July, the Jewish Federation of Greater Ann Arbor welcomed Latasha Mitchell to its professional team as Administrative Coordinator. Latasha is an Administrative Professional with more than 20 years of experience in project coordination, administration, customer service, and community engagement across education, healthcare, and nonprofit organizations.
When it comes to work, Latasha says she is “passionate about building relationships, supporting meaningful initiatives, and helping create strong, connected communities.” She holds a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and a master’s degree from Concordia University. A longtime resident of the Ann Arbor area, Latasha enjoys volunteering, mentoring youth, writing, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
Latasha takes over the role of Administrative Coordinator from Laura Wolfe, who joined the Jewish Federation’s professional team on an interim basis in early 2026. Laura has shifted to be the Federation’s Development Associate and works closely with Becky Melamed, Development Director, to ensure the success of the Annual Community Campaign and other fundraising efforts.
The Jewish Federation team still relies on the contributions of Kadi Swerdlow, who was first hired to fill the role of Administrative Coordinator in 2024 and now works as the Federation’s Impact and Engagement Manager. In this capacity, Kadi manages the allocations of the Annual Community Campaign and administers grants such as the Community Engagement Fund and scholarships for children to attend Jewish summer camps. Kadi also remains the primary point of contact in the Jewish Federation for JLive, the online events hub for all of Jewish Washtenaw County.
There is a great deal of energy in the Jewish Federation offices as the fall comes into full swing. “We have such a great group of professionals in place right now,” says the Jewish Federation’s Communications and Operations Director, Rachel Wall. “I feel so lucky to be working with these talented and dedicated individuals on behalf of the Jewish community in and around Ann Arbor.”
