Meet Your Federation Professional Team
Eileen Freed, Executive Director
Eileen has been with the Jewish Federation of Greater Ann Arbor since 2017. During an earlier tenure at Federation from 2005-2013, Eileen served in several roles including Director of Israel/Overseas & Community Relations. From 2003-2013, Eileen was Special Projects & Communications Manager at Zionism Victoria in Melbourne, Australia. Eileen has lived in Ann Arbor since 1998 and has served on the boards of several local Jewish communal organizations. She earned her BA at the University of Texas at Austin and her MBA at the University of Houston. She and her husband Gary are proud parents of three grown children, Ben, Michele and Ariel.
Robert Deschaine, Accounting Manager
Robert has over twenty-five years of accounting experience working with both for-profit and nonprofit organizations, including eight years as Director of Finance at the Chippewa Nature Center, in Midland, MI. There, he was instrumental in updating financial procedures and technology and bringing a collaborative approach to budgeting and other financial operations. Robert moved to Ann Arbor with his wife Laurie of thirty years.
Isaac Ellis, Operations and Community Partnerships Manager
Contact Isaac by Email or call 734-773-3535.
Isaac has enjoyed working on the administrative side of things ever since he was tricked into it while an apprentice at Performance Network Theater. Since then, he has used his double majors in Theater and Spanish, his thirst for knowledge, and the life lessons acquired while growing up on a farm to learn just enough about everything to be dangerous. When not doing what he can to help improve the community at large, you’ll probably find him baking something delicious in his kitchen, singing with the community a cappella choir 4 Good Measure, or onstage with the local theater troupe The Brass Tacks Ensemble.
Stephanie Glass, Development & Planning Associate
Prior to joining the Federation, Stephanie worked in program development and evaluation. She holds a Master of Science in Social Work from the University of Texas at Austin. In her free time, she enjoys exploring the great state of Michigan, especially in the winter, and spending time with her dog, Marcel.
Marci Sukenic, Chai Mitzvah Community Coordinator
Marci Sukenic brings a variety of experiences to her role as the Chai Mitzvah Community Coordinator. She spent most of her professional career as a speech-language pathologist, working within the public school system in the suburbs of Chicago. She went on to explore her professional interests in real estate and volunteer work in fundraising. She and her family moved to Ann Arbor in 2015, where she has enjoyed building community and delving into many volunteer opportunities. Her varied experiences and her love for bringing people together is reflected both at work and throughout her days. When not at work, Marci stays busy trying to keep up with her three children.
Jessica Weil, Outreach & Program Coordinator
Jessica is the Outreach & Program Coordinator for the Jewish Federation of Greater Ann Arbor. She received her B.S from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign before beginning her career here in October 2018. Jessica oversees the Jewish Young Professionals, and programs connecting Ann Arbor to Israel including our Partnership2Gether program with Moshav Nahalal, and social media communications. In addition to working at the Jewish Federation, Jessica enjoys working out, traveling, and spending time with family and friends.
Julia Goode, Accounting Specialist
Julia’s nonprofit experience started while a student at U of M. Most of her nonprofit experience was gained while working on low-income housing issues in Chicago, in both program and administrative positions. When not bookkeeping at the Jewish Federation, Julia works as a gardener.
Margaret Schreiber, Life & Legacy Coordinator
Margaret was born and raised in Madison, Wisconsin. She is an attorney who received her law degree from the University of Wisconsin. For 17 years, while living in Chicago, Margaret held positions as a lawyer in both the public and private sector and a business owner. After a short stint in Columbus Ohio, Margaret and her husband and daughter moved to Ann Arbor. While Margaret and family love Ann Arbor, she is first and foremost a Badger Fan!
