The Jewish Federation of Greater Ann Arbor joins our network organizations, Jewish Federations of North America and Jewish Council for Public Affairs, in condemning Amnesty International UK’s biased report issued this week for falsely accusing Israel of being an “apartheid” state, irresponsibly distorting international law, and advancing hateful and disparaging rhetoric associated with age-old antisemitic tropes.
The Federation has also signed on to a letter urging the Secretary General of the United Nation to make a clear statement that it is unacceptable for UN institutions, including the Human Rights Council, to use this report and their global platform to unfairly target Israel. You may add your name/organization to the letter as well.
Statement from the Jewish Federations of North America:
Jewish Federations strongly condemned Amnesty International UK’s biased report issued this week for falsely accusing Israel of being an “apartheid” state, irresponsibly distorting international law, and advancing hateful and disparaging rhetoric associated with age-old antisemitic tropes, while ignoring or whitewashing violence, terror, and incitement committed by Palestinians. The anti-Israel propaganda embodied by this report contributes to a rise in antisemitic hate crimes around the world and here at home, emboldening extremists and extremist attacks.
