Education Rights Under Pressure: What Michigan Families Need to Know with Brad Dembs & Debra Chopp

May 6 @ 7:00 pm - 8:30 pm EDT

Federal protections for students with disabilities are in flux. Two
experienced practitioners will break down special education and
nondiscrimination laws — and explain what recent federal changes mean for
Michigan families navigating this vital area of law. Debra Chopp is a Clinical
Professor of Law, Associate Dean for Experiential Education, and the Director
of the Pediatric Advocacy Clinic at the University of Michigan Law School. She
has been representing families on education-related matters for 20 years. Brad
Dembs is the Director of Education Counseling at the Schluter & Hughes Law
Firm, PLLC. He has represented families of children with disabilities for over
a decade, in both non-profit and private sectors.
