All are warmly invited to attend.

The Ann Arbor Jewish Climate Circle (A2J CC), a coalition of Washtenaw County Jewish organizations, invites you to join us for our fourth community-wide Climate-action Shabbat. Whether you or your organization is part of the coalition or not, we would be delighted to welcome you.

Grounded in the Jewish value of tikkun olam, our shared responsibility to repair the world, A2J CC brings our community together to learn, connect, and take meaningful action on climate change.

Climate Shabbat Potluck May 15, 2026We’ll gather for a joyful and inspiring evening beginning with a Jewish Renewal–inspired singing service led by Rabbi Aura Ahuvia. Her choir, the “Holy Levites,” will hold an open rehearsal at 4:30 pm, which will flow seamlessly into services at 6:00 pm. During the service, Rabbi Aura will reflect on how Jewish tradition can both guide and energize our commitment to climate action.

Following services, we’ll continue the evening together with a community potluck dinner in the 2010 Washtenaw building next door. In the spirit of care for both people and planet, we ask that all dishes be vegetarian and nut-free. Compostable tableware, challah, and wine/grape juice will be provided.

Beth Israel’s well-established composting system allows us to minimize waste, and over dinner we’ll have the opportunity to connect and share ideas about how, as individuals and as a community, we can continue building a more sustainable and hopeful future.
