The Jewish Federation of Greater Ann Arbor is thrilled to welcome Ariella Hoffman-Peterson to its professional team as Jewish Young Professionals (JYP) Coordinator. Ariella started in this role in March of this year.

Ariella is a current PhD Student in the School of Public Health at University of Michigan. As is a life-long Jewish communal lay leader, she has loved serving on the JYP Board since moving to Ann Arbor in 2021. She is excited to continue supporting and growing this special community in the additional role of JYP Coordinator.

“JYP has been my home community since moving to Ann Arbor almost two years ago,” Ariella says. “I love celebrating holidays and Shabbat dinners in special ways with other Jewish young professionals in the Ann Arbor area. I am excited to be able to contribute to this community as a new member of Federation’s professional team.”

Ariella’s work will enhance her volunteer time as President of the JYP Board, allowing her to offer more resources for activities aimed at young professionals, and to strengthen the bond between JYP participants and the Jewish community in Washtenaw County more broadly.

Though Judaism is her main hobby, Ariella also loves comedy specials, traveling, and spending time with her partner, Nadav, and their sweet (and sometimes spicy!) cat, Stella.
