Nearly 100 Life & Legacy donors gathered at the Encore Theater in Dexter on July 12 to celebrate the extraordinary impact the Life & Legacy program has had in Ann Arbor over the past six years. Together, they marked an incredible milestone: 502 legacy commitments, representing an estimated $16 million in future support for the 11 participating organizations that strengthen Jewish life throughout greater Ann Arbor. These promises reflect a shared commitment to ensuring that the organizations, programs, and services enriching our community today will continue to flourish for generations to come.
The celebration was as memorable as the milestone itself. Guests enjoyed a delicious brunch, an engaging conversation with Hazzan Daniel Eli Friedman, who captivated audiences as Tevye in Encore’s production of Fiddler on the Roof, and the opportunity to connect with fellow supporters before attending the outstanding performance. It was an afternoon filled with meaningful conversation, camaraderie, and a shared sense of purpose.
While the celebration honored the accomplishments of the past six years, it also looked toward the future. These legacy commitments will strengthen the long-term financial stability of our community’s organizations, providing reliable resources that enable them not only to sustain their essential work but also to pursue new opportunities for growth, innovation, and expanded impact. They will help ensure that future generations can continue to benefit from vibrant Jewish experiences, critical services, educational opportunities, and meaningful connections throughout greater Ann Arbor.
