DESCRIPTION:Let’s work on Hebrew! Whether you are looking for a refresher on the Hebrew letters and vowels or you have no idea how to tell an Aleph from a Bet\, this class is for you! We will review the basics of reading Hebrew and learn the meanings of key words that frequently appear in our liturgy. You’ll leave this class able to sound out words on your own and follow along with the Hebrew in our siddur. \n*We’ve scheduled this class during our Hebrew school hours\, especially for parents of our students who want to know Hebrew better\, but this class is open to all adult learns in the Washtenaw County Jewish Community. The cost of the class covers the book that we will be using. Please be in touch with Rabbi Josh if the cost is prohibitive to your participation. \nCost is $36 per person. Registration closes September 30.

Join Rabbi Chelsea in an exploration of this piece of our shared canon\, with an emphasis on forging a personal relationship to such poetry today. This 4-part series is also wonderful preparation for TBE’s Shabbaton with Rabbi Jade Sank Ross November 14th & 15th and will be based in her new book\, To You I Call: Psalms Throughout Our Lives. While not a requirement for the course\, you may wish to purchase a copy of the book through the CCAR Press.
