DESCRIPTION:Responses and Resilience of the Israeli Health System After October 7\n\nA lecture and a conversation with Dr. Ruth Waitzberg and Prof. Gary Freed\nEvent Summary: Ruth will present about the preparedness and responses of the Israeli health system since October 7. We will hear about the emergency responses in the inpatient and outpatient care during the first days\, preparing hospitals for additional threats from the North and the South\, providing care to the displaced\, and all that\, while attempting to not disrupt routine care as much as possible. Gary and Ruth will have a conversation about one of the biggest outcomes of the attack\, a surge in mental health care need for a country in trauma. \nDr. Ruth Waitzberg is a Doctor in Philosophy (PhD) and Doctor in Public Health (Dr. P.H.); Research scholar at the Myers-JDC-Brookdale Institute\, Jerusalem\, Israel; and at the Department of Healthcare Management\, Berlin University of Technology\, Germany. \nProf. Gary Freed is a Professor of Pediatrics\, Professor of Health Management and Policy\, University of Michigan Medicine.
