Bullying and the JewsIt seems like every day there is new news about bullying. There is bullying in school, bullying in the street, cyber-bullying is both popular and deadly because it can be done remotely and impersonally. There is now a Bully Project that has made a movie with the goal of being viewed by one million kids. Their website right now says 58,352 have seen it already. |

Lunch and Learn Discussion with Larry Rich
You are invited to join Larry Rich, International Relations and Development Director for Emek Medical Center for a presentation and discussion of healthcare as a tool for Arab-Jewish coexistence in the Galilee on Tue, May 1, 12:00-1:30pm at the JCC.
Emek Medical Center located in the Galilee city of Afula is the largest hospital in the region of Israel that also has the largest Arab population. The philosophy that guides the hospital is to build "Coexistence Through Medicine." He is the author of the book, Voices from Armageddon, that tells the story of how the Jewish and Arab physicians and staff of the hospital partner together in service of this philosophy.
Israel Action Network Breakfast
Join us on Wed, May 9, 8 am at the JCC for a breakfast conversation with David Dabscheck, Deputy Managing Director of the Israel Action Network. The IAN is a strategic initiative of the Jewish Federations of North America, in partnership with the Jewish Council for Public Affairs, to counter the assault on Israel's legitimacy. Mr. Dabscheck will discuss the IAN's role in the Jewish community and will explore what IAN does, how they do it and why. He will chronicle some of IAN's past successes and will share best practices for dealing with de-legitimization efforts in our community. Register |

...and Around the CommunityJewish Film FestivalThe 11th Annual Lenore Marwil Jewish Film Festival returns to the Michigan Theater, April 29-May 3. The festival will showcase 15 films over five days at the Michigan Theater. Of the 15 films, 11 of the films are foreign, including six from Israel. Tickets are $10, or a Festival pass to all Ann Arbor films may be purchased for $80 for JCC members or $85 for non-members. Click here for the schedule including film descriptions and movie trailers. Hebrew Day School of Ann Arbor, a K-5 elementary school, seeks a Hebrew/Judaics teacher for the 2012-2013 academic year for its lower elementary school.
