"I did not find the world desolate when I entered it.
And as my parents planted for me before I was born,
so do I plant for those who will come after me."
Talmud
The Jewish Community Foundation is the planned giving and endowment development arm of the Ann Arbor Jewish community. The Foundation partners with eight area agencies and congregations including: the Jewish Federation of Greater Ann Arbor, Beth Israel Congregation, Chabad, Hebrew Day School, the Jewish Community Center, Jewish Cultural Society, Jewish Family Services and Temple Beth Emeth. The Jewish Federation staffs the Foundation and provides the resources necessary to run it from the Federation operating budget.
While the Federation Annual Campaign funds are distributed in full each year to provide operating funds for the Federation and its network of beneficiary agencies, the Foundation maintains the endowment funds created by community members on behalf of each of the Foundation partners for the long-term sustenance of Jewish community life in Greater Ann Arbor. The Jewish Community Foundation provides a full range of planned giving options including Donor-Advised Funds, Charitable Gift Annuities, Bequests and a variety of permanent and restricted endowment vehicles to its fund holders. The funds are invested and managed by the Jewish Federation Foundation of Pittsburgh, and monitored by the Ann Arbor Federation's Foundation and Finance committees.
