yad.  get connected.

Yad means hand.  Hands can give. Hands can take. Hands can join together to change entire communities. The Young Adult Division believes that the future of the Jewish community depends on the development of new leaders and on the philanthropic efforts of our generation and of those to follow. When you get involved with YAD, your interests, your passions, and your actions have a hand in making a difference locally and around the world.

Family Fun at Shabbat in the Park

Once again, Shabbat in the Park was a huge success. On September 11, the program enjoyed its biggest turnout ever, when over 160 newcomers, YAD members and their families came together to celebrate Shabbat at Burns Park with an evening of singing, play, and a special picnic dinner. Highlights included familiar musical Shabbat favorites by musicians Brett Levy and Debbie Gombert, who regularly lead Shabbat singing on Fridays at the JCC Early Childhood Center.  YAD was pleased to partner with the Hebrew Day School of Ann Arbor (HDS) this year. Special thanks go to Allison Pollock, an HDS parent who was instrumental in the planning, and her group of parent volunteers who helped to make this event so special. What a great kick-off to the YAD program year!  It was a terrific event and we are looking forward to seeing you all at future YAD events throughout the year.  Click here to view the photo gallery. YAD Celebrates Israel

Thanks to everyone who came out to Celebrate Israel! Over 500 people from across the community gathered at the JCC to celebrate Israel's 61st birthday and Tel Aviv's 100th. People couldn't resist the YAD table, where we offered samples of Israeli kosher wines.  Enjoy the photos, and make sure to join us next year when we celebrate Israel again!

Ben-Gurion Society

In 1948, David Ben-Gurion, the first Prime Minister of Israel, became the face of agreat new generation of Jews. His single-minded passion for the Jewish people is as much a part of his legacy as is the State of Israel itself. Today, the Ben Gurion Society embodies that legacy. The Ben-Gurion Society (BGS) mandate is to recognize, thank and reward young (ages 25-40) who contribute a minimum of $1,000 to the Jewish Federation of Greater Ann Arbor Annual Campaign.
